Dan and Sarah McClure
Walla Walla Organics owners Dan and Sarah McClure have been married since 1985 and partners in business since 1990. A Walla Walla native, Dan studied agriculture at Montana State University where he met Sarah, a Montana native. Sarah who graduated in business accounting (CPA) worked in Kalispell, Montana until they married in 1985. About 25 years later, they were parents to three sons and a flourishing organic farm.
In addition to raising the only Certified Organic Walla Walla Sweet Onions, we also farm organic beans, spinach, squash, and more.
Onions are a delicious, nutritious vegetable in the same family as garlic, shallot, leek, chive, and Chinese onion. Walla Walla Sweets are mild and, as the name promises, sweet, making them the onion of choice in sandwiches, salads, and veggie platters. They are equally delicious caramelized, grilled, roasted, and as an ingredient in cooked dishes. Here are our favorite recipes!
During Walla Walla Sweet Onion season, generally late June through September, Walla Walla Organic Sweets can be found locally at Walla Walla Harvest Foods and in select farm stands throughout Walla Walla Valley, as well as in markets in Pacific NW locations.
